Let’s talk eCommerce Expo
Hello {{first_name | there}} ,
It’s September!
We’re in the UK!
And we work in eCommerce!
So what else would we be doing other than planning our trip to eCommerce Expo?
If you’re a long-time subscriber, you’ll know that I’m very pro eCommerce Expo - in fact, it’s the first thing I put in the work diary each year.
This week I’m starting to finalise my plans for those 2 crazy days in London.
Chloe’s Start of September eCommerce Expo Recommendations
Here are my headlines for the event, as it stands right now - and I’ll do another of these updates before the event with updates, additions etc etc (a lot can happen in the 3 weeks before an event!).
1 - Consider the Co-located shows
Your eCommerce Expo ticket also gets you into:
TFM - Technology for Marketing
Parcel+Post - all about deliveries
And as a brand you might also be attending The Growth Summit.
You really do need to consider how much attention you want to pay to these before you get there - if you have no delivery and parcel issues to solve… an accidental afternoon in that zone will be bad news.
If you’re eligible for a ticket to The Growth Summit, and don’t grab one, then you’ll be missing out on some of the best content, and the most retailer-only networking of the events.
As always - what are you looking to get out of the event? Then plan what you do based on that.
2 - Remember the eCommerce Expo basics…
OK, these are things you need to remember to have a fun, easy, pain free time!
Wear comfy shoes - the walk from the tube to the hall can take 5-10minutes before you even start wandering around the stands.
Bring a refillable water bottle - there are several easy refill stations along the main “street” outside the expo.
If you can’t find anywhere to sit inside the expo - there’s loads of seating in the “street” area - and lots of food outlets too.
Plot which talks you want to go to before you get there.
If you’re going as a team - divide and conquer the agenda
3 - The ‘other’ events
I’m not sure you can call yourself a “top eCommerce agency” or “top eCommerce SaaS” if you’re not sponsoring some event outside the expo itself…
There are breakfasts, lunches, pub quizzes (hosted by a Chaser!!), happy hours, dinners - the list is endless, and if you’re a retailer your inbox is about to get jammed with them!
They’re well worth being a part of if you want to build a stronger connection with your existing suppliers, or you’re sussing out your next supplier.
Personally, I miss them all as I turn into an autistic pumpkin at about 5.30pm!!
But if you don’t - then enjoy!
4 - Come see one of my sessions
I’ve got my busiest EVER eCommerce Expo this year.
So if you want to come to some session that I can guarantee will be insightful, and not boring… here’s what I’m up to.
🗣️ Day 1 12.55-13.20 Future of Digital Commerce Stage: Conversational eCommerce: From Purchase Intent to Conversion with Doofinder’s AI Assistant
An ACE case study. I’ll be chatting with Paul Ryazanov about the ins and outs of a recent deployment of Doofinder’s AI Assistant. If you’re trying to improve onsite product discovery… don’t miss this.
🗣️ Day 1 15.35-15.55 The Growth Summit: Where Are Retailers Actually Seeing AI Deliver?
The event team have put together an excellent panel of senior eCommerce-ers who are actively using and rolling out AI within their teams.
And I get to ask them the questions!!!
🗣️ Day 2 13.15-13.40 Global Growth and Delivery Stage: 3 Ways to Monetise Returns and Second Hand
Yes! On day 2, I get to talk about the circular economy and present my take on how to monetise returns and second-hand. REALLY looking forward to this.
See you there?
Keep Optimising!

Are you going to eCommerce Expo 2027?
We Recommend:
Brand new episode: Tariq Kazemi, BLD BRO
This year we seem to have accidentally tapped into a rich seam of brands built with the purpose of improving men’s mental health.
And this week’s guest has the same purpose - but a totally different case study for achieving it.
Lots to get you thinking about your business in this one.

Why one brand gets named and another doesn't
Your position on that list has little to do with who has the better product or the bigger budget. It comes down to whose product data a model can actually read and trust. The attributes, the specs, the details that never made it off a PDF or out of someone's head. Glara finds what's missing from yours and writes it in. You approve every change, and any of it can be reversed. It ties the result back to sessions and revenue in Shopify, Centra, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud, so you can watch your position move instead of taking it on faith. Then it keeps checking, because the order gets rewritten every time the models update.
eCommerce Marketing: How to Get Traffic that BUYS to Your Website
This one is Chloe's book that's most focused on CRO and customer journey.
Full of customer behaviour fundamentals, it's well worth a read.
Available in paperback, audiobook, and ebook.
New on Keep Optimising: CRO: Turn Customer Behaviour Data into More Sales with Carolina Dibb, Carolina Dibb Consulting
In my opinion, you can’t do anything about improving conversion rates until you get to grips with your customers and their behaviour.
That’s what Carolina is here to help us all do better…
